An overnight shooting at Seven Palms Apartments in Punta Gorda left neighbors concerned for their safety.
Residents Josie Crowell and Justin Winters were awaken by a loud noise around 4:50 a.m. Friday and when they got up in the morning they found a bullet hole in their living room window.
“We were sleeping and next thing you know it sounded like … I don’t know, it sounded like metal whacking our window or something,” Crowell said.
After deputies responded, they found additional bullet holes in another apartment window and in a vehicle parked in front of the building.
“We don’t have any problems with anybody. I don’t know why anybody would be targeting us,” Crowell said.
While no one was injured in the shooting and detectives believe it’s an isolated incident, residents remain concerned.
“All of our neighbors put in danger. They put a lot of people in danger,” Winters said.
